4 insurgents killed, 6 wounded in Nangarhar clash

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Four Talibaninfo-icon insurgents have been killed and six others wounded during a clash in Momand Dara district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Sunday.

Police spokesman Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked the district police headquarters and stormed security check-posts in 28-Weala area late on Saturday night.

He said in retaliatory gunfire, the security forces pushed the militants back. At least four fighters were killed and six others wounded in the ensuing clash, the police spokesman.

Mashriqiwal added Taliban’s shadow district chief named Abdul Aziz and foreign militants were among the injured. Security forces and civilians suffered no casualties, the police official concluded.
