4 held with explosives in Nangarhar’s Momand Dara

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Security forces have arrested four people and recovered explosives from two vehicles in the Momand Dara district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Thursday.

Col. Mohammad Ayub Hussainkhel, commander of the border police brigade, told Pajhwok Afghan News officials from the 6th battalion made the arrests and recovery on a tip-off.

He added 900 explosive fuses and 3,500 metres long wire used in insurgent activities were captured. Hussainkhel assured the security forces were alert in all areas to thwart plans for subversive activities.

The same brigade recently captured a huge quantity of ammonium nitrate, a substance use in bomb making.
